Sharing our work and reconnecting
For many of us, September is a blur of activity. Making up for a (hopefully) relaxing August, we scurry like ants to make order and build projects. In the midst of it all, it’s easy to forget to share our progress and connect with our people. I know this because I have been heads-down most of the month, keeping my projects in motion while juggling the predictable-yet-always-inconvenient back-to-school viruses, holiday schedules, and seasonal activities (there is always time for apple picking!). What gets lost in the shuffle? Reaching out to friends and colleagues, commiserating and sharing ideas, and supporting our efforts to make the world a better place.
So let’s get reconnected. Here’s my question for you:
What are you thinking about, working on, and moving towards this fall?
Reply in the comments, and I’ll give you a high-five of encouragement, or, if you have a question, will do my best to answer.
As for me, I’ve been wrapping up a great season working with the Wake Up to Dying Project, where I’ve been creating event posters, signage, and assorted media. I’ve just begun some exciting new work with Vermont Afterschool Inc., doing in-person and online training in social media for afterschool providers. I’m also working with RETN to launch our next round of iPad videomaking workshops. There are a few other projects on the horizon, including my ecourse – Fireworks Storytelling. I’m also working on some media projects about food allergies.
It’s a question how I juggle it all, and I admit, while I have several great apps and tools for efficiency, I’m often just doing what my dad, Dick Ferrara, always suggested: “Make a list.” I’d love to hear what you are up to, and how you are managing it.
